Today you are four years old and I can't get over it. Four years ago you made me a mommy and I am so proud to hold that title with you as my daughter. We have our ups and downs, but every day with you is a blessing and I wouldn't give it up for the world. I look back on pictures of you throughout the last four years all the time. Oh how I miss every single stage we've gone through with you but at the same time look forward to all the new ones.
A little bit about you at four years old:
You love to pick out your own clothes every day. You're very opinionated when it comes to what you wear. It's too fun to see what you think matches and goes together. They other day you wore a purple dress and thought your purple tights were a perfect match just because they were both purple (two very different shades of purple that is). You are also getting better at dressing yourself, and love to at least try to do so.
When you wear tights you call that line across your toes a grasshopper. And if it's bothering you, you tell us that grass hoppers are bugging you.
You have to have things a certain way and will completely melt down if it's not that way. Take for example your very favorite blanket. Aunt Stephanie made this one for you and you take it everywhere and sleep with it every night. It has a flannel blue lady bug pattern on one side and a pink plaid pattern on the other side. The blue side has to be the side touching you.
You are getting so good at Swimming lessons. These last few weeks something clicked in your head and you've been just kicking butt at it. You love to hold your breath in the bathtub and have us count to see how long you can go. You just love water in general. You love to splash around with the water table and with the hose.
Just finished your first year of preschool. We will do two years of preschool, so you go back again in the fall. But, boy did you love it. You loved seeing Jude all the time, now you constantly ask when you can see him again. You really seemed to learn a lot and are getting pretty good at writing your name on your own already.
Speaking of Jude. You are pretty determined you will marry him. You tell me so at least once a day. Mine and Crystal's brainwashing seems to have worked. (insert evil laugh). Ok Ok so if you don't marry him someday that's ok too. But in the mean time it's so fun to see the special friendship you guys have formed. You really take care of each other and look out for each other at preschool and when we are out playing together. I hope that you guys maintain some sort of friendship while growing up.
You insisted on a "Belle" birthday party this year. And you are already telling me that when you turn Five you want an Ariel birthday party in Disneyland. Geesh kid. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. Daddy and I are talking about making a trip to Disneyland next fall (a few months after your birthday) for you though so I hope that will do.
You still love everything Princess, My Little Pony, and love taking care of your babies.
Favorite color is currently red.
You love to be outside. Love to go for rides in the stroller or wagon. Love to jump on the trampoline, especially with daddy.
You finally switched to a big girl bed. Your present from us this year, along with the princess bedding. for the most part it's been a pretty smooth transition. After a rough couple of nights we came up with the system of giving you quarters for your piggy bank. One for sleeping all night and not coming to get me. Another one if you wait until your clock shows the dancing cow not the sleeping cow. You've managed to earn quite a few coins! Once your money is "saved up" we let you buy stuff with it. Grandma Dinorah has been doing the same for you and you've bought quite a few babies this way. Lately you've been really good about sleeping all night but waking up WAY TOO EARLY. Even going to bed super late with all our fun things going on you are up at 7am, or as early as 6am on Sat. Geesh kid!
After our previous experiences with livestock (the ponies at the pumpkin patch) you've managed to surprise me a couple of times. At Christmas with the miniature pony, you held his reins and petted him. And then the other day at the zoo you totally held out your hand to feed the goat. I'm super excited for the pumpkin patch this year because you keep telling us that this year you wont be scared and you will ride the pony.
You've been requesting cinnamon rolls for breakfast non stop, so for your birthday breakfast we delivered. You were a happy girl!
Happy 4th Birthday Natalia!!
I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!
