I just wanted to take a minute and reflect on this time last year. On December 31st of 2008, my nephew Oliver was in surgery in Utah to receive a donor liver. His liver had failed and he wasn't going to live to see 2 years old without a new one. Then on the 1st day of the year we got a call that his body was rejecting the donor, and they were going to have to go back in and hopefully a part of my brother's liver would take. So at this very time last year we rushed to Utah to be with them during this whole ordeal. It was the hardest, scariest, most intense few days I've ever had. And, our little miracle baby is alive and well now. I'm still so very proud of my little brother and that he was able to do this for his little boy. It's incredible what modern medicine can do now a days. Oliver is a normal happy toddler now, about to turn 2 on January 10th. I'm so very thankful for him and to have him with us now. It makes me want to cry to look back on pictures of him so sick, and to see him so happy because he just didn't know any better. He is a true blessing and a miracle!
Healthy and Happy Oliver:
